[PREVIEW] MSL - Sesi-SP wants to regain the lead

After spending 20 turns in the lead of the Men's Superleague 10/11, SESI-SP was surpassed, two rounds ago, by Cimed (SC) in the standings. This THURSDAY (17.02), will face the team from Volta Redonda (RJ) aiming the first place. The team from South Rio still has a chance to fight for a spot among the top eight who will go to the quarter-finals. The duel will begin at 21h45 at Poliesportivo of São João Island, in Volta Redonda (RJ), and will be broadcast live from channel Sportv.

Current vice leader in the standings, the Sampa City team sum 40 points in 21 games - 19 victories and two defeats. In the last round, at home, defeated the Soya / Blumenau / Plus Mart (SC) by 3 sets to 1.


If defeat Volta Redonda, SESI-SP will reassume momentarily, the leadership of Superleague. The Cimed, current leader and direct opponent of the the São Paulo team, will not play on Thursday. The team from Santa Catarina, will return to the court only on 24 February, against São Caetano (SP).

The Volta Redonda is out of the G8 and continues in the struggle to climb in the standings and move to the playoffs. Currently, the team from South Rio de Janeiro State occupies the 11th position with 27 points in 20 games - seven wins and 13 defeats. In the last match, the Volta Redonda went to Campinas, where they lost to the Medley / Campinas (SP), by 3 sets to 2, and accumulated the sixth successive league defeat.
