[REVIEW] MSL PLAYOFFS - SF1: SESI São Paulo x VIVO Minas

Sesi-SP is the first finalist

Foto da notíciaAfter five seasons, the state of Sao Paulo has again a team in the Men's Superliga Finals. This FRIDAY (8/4), SESI-SP defeated the Vivo / Minas by 3 sets to 0 (25/20, 26/24, 25/23), at the gymnasium Vila Leopoldina, São Paulo (SP) and secured a berth in the finals of the tournament. The hosts closed the semifinal series best-of-three against the Mineiros with two straight wins after losing the first playoff showdown.

The opponent of the Paulistas in the finals will be decided in the third game of the second semifinal showdown between the Vôlei Futuro (SP) and Sada Cruzeiro (MG) to be played Friday (15.04), 8h30pm, in Contagem (MG).


The outside hitter Murilo, of Sesi-SP, was elected the best athlete on the court and took home the trophy VivaVôlei. The player, considered the best in the world last year, played the match in the sacrifice, after suffering a thigh injury.

The highest scorer of the match was the outside hitter Luiz Felipe of Vivo / Minas with 18 points. By the side of Sesi-SP, the highlight was the opposite Wallace with 14 hits. The coach of the Sampa City team, the two-times Olympic champion (92/04) Giovane Gavio, celebrated for reaching his first final of Super League as a coach.
