[REVIEW] WSL - Pinheiros / Mackenzie wins at home

At the opening of the the fourth round of the return of Ladies Superleague 10/11, the Pinheiros / Mackenzie (SP) was briefly shaken. After losing the first set, the twice champion Sao Paulo State team, bounced back and defeated the BMG / São Bernardo (SP), by 3 sets to 1 (19/25, 25/21, 25/19 and 25/17), on Tuesday (15.02), at Henrique Villaboin Gym, in Sao Paulo (SP).

The name of the match came off the bench. The setter Karine, of Pinheiros / Mackenzie, came in the second set in place of the holder of the position Fabiola and never left the court. The player was instrumental in the victory and won the VivaVôlei Trophy as the best athlete of the match.


The highest scorer of the the match was the opposite from Pinheiros / Mackenzie, Lia. The attacker had 23 hits - 21 attack, one block and one server. By BMG / São Bernardo, the highlight was the outside hitter Mari Helen, with 16 points.

This was the 11th victory from Pinheiros / Mackenzie in the Superleague. The team ranks third in the competition, but will return to occupy the fourth spot if Vôlei Futuro (SP) defeat the Brusque (SC) on Thursday, in Araçatuba (SP). The Pinheiros / Mackenzie accumulates 26 points in 15 games, with four defeats.

Already the BMG / São Bernardo follows the fighting to stay in the top eight who will move into the quarter-finals. The team from Sao Bernardo do Campo is in the seventh place with 21 points, six wins and nine negative results.


The Pinheiros / Mackenzie continue playing at home. Next Saturday (19.02), the team will receive the Sao Caetano (SP), at the gym Henrique Villaboin, São Paulo, starting at 18h.

The BMG / São Bernardo will face Sollys / Osasco (SP) in the next round. Also Saturday, the team will play in the gym Adib Dib Moses in São Bernardo do Campo (SP) at 15h. The duel will be broadcast live by channel Sportv.
