WSL - Women's Superliga
In the history of the competition, São Paulo is the State with the highest number of titles. There are 8 in total. Four of them with Sollys Osasco. The Rio de Janeiro State add 6 titles, while the State of Paraná has 2 titles and Minas Gerais has one.
In the last edition Sollys Osasco and Unilever Rio de Janeiro dueled for the seventh consecutive time in the final. The team from Rio de Janeiro won, by 3 sets to 0, at Mineirinho Stadium, in Belo Horizonte (MG).
The Sollys Osasco, coached by Luizomar de Moura, is the team with the most-appearances in a Superliga Final. There were 10 in total, all in a row, with 4 titles.
Unilever is the team that more often took the top spot of the podium, with 7 achievements of the team led by Ccoach Bernardinho (2 of them when the team was based in the State of Paraná).

FORMAT
The 2011/2012 Superliga format is based mainly in 2 phases. The season (a.k.a. qualifying stage) and the post-season (a.k.a. knock-out stage). In the qualifying stage, the 12 teams will play each other 2 times (home and away) in a balanced schedule. Therefore, it'll be 22 rounds. The 8 best placed teams after the end of the last round will go to the next round (quarter-finals). The duels will be formed according the seedings. The 1st place against the 8th, the 2nd against the 7th, the 3rd against the 6th and the 4th against the 5th, in a best-of-three series, like the semifinals. The champion will be decided in 1 match,at the Maracanãzinho Gymnasium, in Rio de Janeiro.
In this season, the Superliga will follow the international rule and will adopt the new system of points in a victory (the same adopted by FIVB).
Winning by 3-0 or 3-1 -> 3 points to the winner, 0 points to the loser
Winning by 3 -2 -> 2 points to the winner, 1 point to the loser
W.O. -> no-show team loses 2 points
