[REVIEW] WSL PLAYOFFS - QF1: Unilever Rio de Janeiro x BMG São Bernardo

And this edition of the tournament is no different. On Tuesday (29/03), the team from Rio de Janeiro beat BMG / São Bernardo (SP) by 3 sets to 0 (25/20, 25/16 and 25/16) at the gym Maracanazinho, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). With the result, the team coached by Bernardo Rezende closed the quarter-final series best-of-three in two to zero and secured one spot among the top four teams.


In the game that stamped the passport to the
semifinals of Unilever, the attackers Regiane and Sheilla had great performances. The opposite, Olympic champion, from Rio de Janeiro ended the game as the highest scorer with 19 points. The setter Dani Lins, also of the victorious team, was voted best athlete of the showdown and won the trophy VivaVôlei.

[REVIEW] MSL PLAYOFFS - QF3 Game 02

There will be two Minas Gerais and two São Paulo teams in the semifinals of the Super League Men's Volleyball 10/11. The definition took place late on FRIDAY (25.03), with the classification of Sada Cruzeiro (MG), which defeated the Pinheiros / SKY (SP) by 3 sets to 1 (30/28, 22/25, 25/23 and 28/26) at the gym Henrique Villaboin in Sao Paulo. With the victory, the team of Argentine coach Marcelo Mendez closed the series of quarter-final with two victories.

In the semifinals, the Sada Cruzeiro faces the Vôlei Futuro (SP), who also qualified on Friday, defeating the reigning champions Cimed (SC) by 3 sets to 0. The other side of the bracket is the duel between SESI-SP against VIVO Minas.

The big name of the Minas team in the match was the opposite Wallace. With 22 points scored, the attacker was the leading scorer of the clash and received the trophy VivaVôlei being the best player in court.

Team of world champions Ricardinho, Lucão, Leandro Vissotto and Mário Junior, the Vôlei Futuro (SP) is the third semifinalist in the Superleague Men's Volleyball 10/11. The team of Araçatuba (SP) has crushed the reigning champions Cimed (SC) by defeating the team from Santa Catarina, this FRIDAY (25.03), by 3 sets to 0 (25/23, 25/17 and 25/21) and close the series of quarter-final with two wins in a match held in the gym Placido Rocha in Araçatuba.

This is the first time in five participations in the Superliga Men that Vôlei Futuro advances to semifinals. Disputing the competition for the sixth season, Cimed was knocked out of the semifinals for the first time. The Santa Catarina team won four titles (05/06, 07/08, 08/09 and 09/10) and one silver medal (06/07).


Accurate in the distribution, the Olympic champion setter Ricardinho was considered the best player of the game and received the trophy VivaVôlei. The outside hitter Dentinho, also from Vôlei Futuro was the highest scorer with 14 points.

The four-times champions of Super League Men are in the semis. This THURSDAY (24.03), the VIVO / Minas (MG) defeated the BMG / Montes Claros (MG) by 3 sets to 2 (32/30, 24/26, 25/20 and 22/25 and 15/12) at the Arena Vivo in Belo Horizonte (MG). With the result, the hosts closed the series best-of-three of the quarter-final in two-zero and will face SESI-SP in the semifinals.

The central Henrique of Vivo Minas, was elected the best athlete of the match and received the trophy VivaVôlei. The outside hitter of the BMG / Montes Claros, Bruno Zanutto, was the leading scorer of the Minas Gerais duel, with 21 points. On the side of Vivo / Minas, the outside hitter Diogo, with 18 hits, was the one who scored most.

The crowd of Campinas showed up in force, but SESI-SP did not care about surprises. This THURSDAY (24.03), the team leader of the regular season of Men's Superleague 10/11 defeated the Medley / Campinas (SP) by 3 sets to 0 (25/17, 26/24 and 26/24) in the gym Taquaral in Campinas (SP). With the result, the Sampa City team have qualified for the semifinals for the first time, and will face Vivo / Minas (MG) in the fight for a place in the final.

As in the first leg of the quarterfinals, Medley / Campinas sold costly the loss for SESI-SP. Even with their victory in Vila Leopoldina by 3 sets to 0, the game was very balanced.
