[REVIEW] WSL - Pinheiros / Mackenzie beats the Banana Boat / Praia Clube and achieves the sixth straight win

The Pinheiros / Mackenzie (SP) had to sweat the shirt this SATURDAY (26/02) to beat the Banana Boat / Praia Clube Uberlândia (MG). The current Sao Paulo champions passed through the Mineiras, by comeback, for 3 sets to 1 (17/25, 25/19, 25/20 and 25/22) in the gymnasium Henrique Villaboin, São Paulo (SP) . The match was valid for the seventh round of the Superleague Ladies return 10/11.

With the result the Pinheiros / Mackenzie reached the sixth consecutive win and assumed the Vice leadership of the tournament with 32 points. Already the Banana Boat / Praia Clube Uberlândia follows the struggle for classification for the playoffs and remained in eighth place.


At the match of Saturday's shone the star of the setter Fabiola, vice-champion with the Brazilian team in Japan in 2010, who came off the bench in the second set and helped the Pinheiros / Mackenzie to change the history of the clash. The player was named the best of the game and took home the trophy VivaVôlei.

Fellow teammate of Fabíola in the Paulista team, the central Natália Martins also had an outstanding performance and scored 22 points being the highest scorer of the match.


The Pinheiros / Mackenzie will face Usiminas / Minas (MG), Thursday (10/03), 18h, at the Arena Vivo in Belo Horizonte (MG). Already the Banana Boat / Praia Clube has scheduled a clash with the Sollys / Osasco (SP) on Monday (28/02) at 19h30, at the gym Jose Liberatti, Osasco (SP).

[REVIEW] WSL - Vôlei Futuro surprises and passes through Sollys / Osasco

The Vôlei Futuro had not beaten yet any teams said to be the favourites for the title of Womens Superleague 10/11. The taboo was broken this FRIDAY (25/02). Away from home, the team of Araçatuba, defeated Sollys / Osasco (SP), for 3 sets to 1 (21/25, 25/17, 25/16 and 25/17), in the gymnasium José Liberatti, in Osasco (SP). The match was valid for the seventh round of the return of the competition.

The result put the Vôlei Futuro in second place with 32 points, but with a game more than Sollys / Osasco. The defending champions of the Womens's Super League is in third place with 31 points.

The libero Stacy Sykora shone in the match this Friday, with spectacular saves. The player, named the best libero in the last World Championship, was considered the best athlete in the game and took home the trophy VivaVôlei. 

Sykora, playing in the first season in Brazil, gave an interview to the channel Sportv speaking Portuguese.

"I want to thank my team. I do not play alone and today our block worked well, "said the athlete.
The opposite Joycinha was the highest scorer of the match, with 21 points. 

The Sollys / Osasco seek rehabilitation in the tournament on Monday (28/02), at 19h30 against the Banana Boat / Praia Clube (MG), in the gym José Liberatti, Osasco (SP). Already the Vôlei Futuro faces Unilever (RJ), on Friday (11/03), at 21h in the Gymnasium Maracanãzinho, Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

[REVIEW] WSL - Unilever wins without trouble

Unilever (RJ) had no trouble achieving the 16th victory in the Superleague Women's Volleyball 10/11. This THURSDAY (24.02), the team led by coach Bernardinho ruled the court and defeated the Pauta / São José (SC) by 3 sets to 0 (25 / 9, 25/12 and 25/14), at the gym São José, in São José (SC).

Olympic champion Valeskinha, of Unilever, gave a show on the court and showed why she is the greatest blocker in the history of the Superleague so far. The athlete scored five points in the block, and now sum 620 hits on this category. Pursuing it, is the central of Vôlei Futuro Fabiana, with 609 points. The block was the main basis of Unilever in the game. There were 17 points on this category against only three of the opponents. 

The greatest scorer of the match was the opposite Sheilla, of Unilever. The attacker had 16 hits - 14 of them on spike and two on the block.

The outside hitter Mari, of Unilever, who is returning to the court after five months away due to surgery on her right knee, played the first two sets. The attacker scored seven points.

With the result, Unilever maintained its lead in the Superleague. The team will return to court in Rio SATURDAY (26.02), again in Santa Catarina. In Brusque, in the Arena Multiuso, the team from Rio, will face the Brusque (SC), starting from 19h.

The Pauta / São Jose also will play on Saturday, but starting from 10h30 against the Macaé Sports (RJ), at the gym São Jose, in São Jose (SC).

[REVIEW] WSL - In the duel of the Americans, better for Nicole

Usiminas / Minas, and BMG / São Bernardo made the most contested game in the night of Thursday. After opening two sets to 0, the Minas Gerais team, saw the team from São Paulo react, and only managed to win in the tiebreak, with partial 25/22, 25/17, 19/25, 22/25 and 15 / 9, at the gym Baetão in São Bernardo do Campo (SP).

[REVIEW] MSL - Serve makes the difference and Sesi-SP thrashes Vôlei Futuro

Sesi-SP shone on the night of THURSDAY (24.02) and kept the lead in the Superleague Men's Volleyball 10/11. The team led by Giovane Gavio gave no chance to the star studded volleyball team of Vôlei Futuro (SP) and won by 3 sets to 0 (25/18, 25/22 and 25/16) at Sesi Vila Leopoldina, São Paulo.

In the duel which brought together four of the top ten in the category serve, it made a difference in favor of SESI-SP. The hosts scored seven points in this category against only two of their opponents. The setter Sandro, and the opposite Wallace scored three times each.

Voted the best player of the game, Sandro highlighted the power of the service, as the secret of victory. "We came into this game focused only on the opponent. This was one of the secrets of this result. Today my performance was facilitated because the attackers played very well. Our service, also worked very well", said Sandro, with the Trophy VivaVôlei in hands. Wallace was the leading scorer of the match with 11 hits.

The next opponent of Sesi-SP, is Medley / Campinas (SP). The clash will be on MONDAY (28/02), as of 18h45, in the gym Sesi Vila Leopoldina, with live broadcast of the channel Sportv.
